3D Site Builder

An in-browser 3D editor for recreating the full site layout on a live scene. Managers place, scale, and rotate parametric assets, with every layout persisted and reversible.
  • Babylon.js rendering with hierarchical scene graphs
  • Drag-and-drop placement, scaling, and rotation of parametric assets
  • Layouts stored in MongoDB with versioning and rollback
  • Scene serialization for export and import across environments
3D Site Builder

Real-Time Movement Tracker

A streaming pipeline that plots live equipment and vehicle positions on the 3D map. Telemetry moves from the site to the browser with minimal latency and network load.
  • Low-latency MQTT telemetry from on-site equipment and vehicles
  • WebSocket JSON payloads synced to Babylon.js mesh instances
  • Delta-update system patches only changed positions and orientations
  • Stable network load under continuous position updates
Real-Time Movement Tracker

Optimized Render Engine

A rendering pipeline built to hold performance in dense, frequently updated scenes. Heavy layouts and constant position updates stay smooth without frame drops.
  • Custom asset-loading pipeline with LOD and occlusion culling
  • Instanced meshes and geometry batching cut draw calls
  • Sustained 60+ FPS with thousands of dynamic objects
  • Cleanup routine disposes objects and prevents WebGL memory leaks
Optimized Render Engine

Route Graph Planner

A visual routing system that defines and tests movement paths inside the 3D scene. Staff validates site logistics in simulation before it goes live.
  • Paths modeled as directed graph edges between embedded nodes
  • Modified A* pathfinding with zone constraints
  • Restricted areas and one-way paths enforced per route
  • In-scene simulation with predicted path and traffic overlays
Route Graph Planner

Equipment Simulator & Manual Control

A sandbox for testing and driving mobile equipment before live deployment. Operators inject commands and review trajectories without touching real hardware.
  • Full kinematic modeling of mobile equipment and vehicles
  • Commands parsed and executed against 3D transform matrices
  • AABB collision detection during movement
  • Manual overlay for command injection and trajectory playback

How We Ran This

This was a greenfield build with no comparable system to reference. We designed the product from the ground up around a custom 3D engine, live hardware telemetry, and integration with the client's tablets, dashboards, and site tools.

Discovery & Scoping

With no existing tool to model against, early work defined how a physical site would translate into an editable 3D scene and how live equipment data would map onto it. Scope settled around four pillars: the 3D editor, real-time tracking, mission control, and route planning.

Execution & Tracking

The team delivered full-cycle development across the Vue and Babylon.js frontend and the event-driven Node.js and MongoDB backend. Real-time streams ran over MQTT and WebSocket, with hardware feeds from tablet apps, equipment sensors, and charging stations tuned against the demands of large site layouts.

Quality & Delivery

QA targeted the hardest case first: sustained real-time rendering under heavy scenes and frequent position updates. DevOps on Kubernetes handled deployment, scaling, and the real-time data infrastructure for equipment and vehicle position updates.

Challenges & Solutions

During our work on this project, we've faced a lot of complicated challenges. We believe that each challenge has a solution. See yourself!
Challenge #1
Site layouts weren't documented or editable.
Solution #1

A browser-based 3D editor with drag-and-drop placement and MongoDB-backed versioning to recreate the full layout.
Challenge #2
No real-time view of on-site activity.
Solution #2

An MQTT-to-WebSocket telemetry pipeline plotting live equipment and vehicle positions on the 3D map.
Challenge #3
Movement routes weren't repeatable.
Solution #3

A graph-based planner using modified A* with zone constraints, tested in-scene before activation.

Clients say

What really stood out was how flexible they were when our priorities changed. Whether we needed to shift focus or tackle something tricky, like the complex payment integration, they easily handled it. They kept communication clear and open, and their commitment to helping us meet both technical needs and business goals made a huge difference for us.
